Hi All,

Thank you for taking part in the 2023 Endless Summer Trail Run Series French 5KM at French Regional Park last week. Wednesday, June 21, 2023 marked the astronomical first day of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, aka ‘the summer solstice’. Fittingly, we got to celebrate with an Endless Summer Trail Run Series race. This was the first time that these two forces aligned (the first time an ESTRS race fell on the solstice) and I have to admit, it felt kind of special. Normally such a big crowd does not feel as chill, warm and inviting – it is a special atmosphere and a special group. Regarding the picture above, I don’t know where Charity got the shirt, but it is very much on brand… if only they made one that said “After this pizza… and be sure to meet at least one new person tonight!” – did you meet your new person at French?

A huge thank you to the folks at French Park for hosting us and taking such great care of the park and trail system.

All credit is due to our amazing 35+ volunteers, thank you!

Thanks to Mile in My Shoes for tabling at last week’s run and bringing so many of their Run Mentors and Alumni Members to participate – you probably saw them in their signature blue and orange shirts. We have a new partnership with MiMS to both make our runs more accessible to a wider community and support their organizational work. Shout outs to Rocksteady Runners Dara, Janine, Lynne, Cory, and Matt for using the Endless Summer Race Series as their fundracer races to raise money for MiMS and good luck to Afton runners David, Ashleigh, Caroline and Alexandira who are also MiMS FundRacers. Whether you are a seasoned trail or road racer, first time trail-racer, need a tune-up for your next race, need to get in some speed-work or just want to have some pizza, pop and beer with us at the finish – running one or all of the races in the series is for you.  The Endless Summer Trail Run Series has garnered a strong local following and has gotten significant national media coverage as one of the best organized and most well attended trail running series in the country!
