7 to 76. That was the age spread of this year of ESTRS runners. Participants spanned elite runners to those that run-walk, and they love it just the same, and we love them just the same. ESTRS is stubbornly kept at 7 miles or less and $25, so the barrier to participation is low, so the gift of a well-organized communal trail running experience can be shared by all. At the crux of that, is you, the team that make these events come alive four special nights each Summer.
A highlight of each ESTRS race day(s), is showing back up at the start / finish area after marking the trail to see the familiar faces of the the people I get to do this with, doing what you do – competently, joyfully, together. Without an ounce of sarcasm I say this… it warms my heart. It is an absolute honor to be a part of this team – it is something truly special.
Thank you for selflessly giving of your time; event to event, year to year. I am grateful and our running community is grateful. I am already looking forward to 2023.
