2022 ESTRS Lebanon 10KM Updates and Potential Weather Impact – UPDATE 1 can be found HERE

Hi Again ESTRS Lebanon 10KM Runners,

It’s going to be one loop for 5KM tonight, not the usual two loops for 10KM.

I got up super early this morning and went and checked out the race course and got it all marked. We usually mark the trail a couple of hours prior to the race start, but I wanted to put my eyes on it early, just in case it wasn’t looking good. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. Lebanon typically does really well in the rain, but I was a little nervous given how much rain we got. All of that said, cutting the distance in half tonight and thus cutting our impact on the trail in half is the way to go, there is no sense in getting greedy. There are a few slick spots on the trail and be sure to use caution on the boardwalks. One spot I want you to be extra careful is that first little downhill off of the gravel road onto the trail about 1/3rd mile into the race – that one might take you by surprise.

If it is raining during check-in and / or for the race start, things might appear a little more pared down than usual, but we will do our best to keep it festive! If it is wet / cool make sure you have something warm to throw on after so you are comfortable and can stick around and enjoy a beer or soda after and enjoy some fellowship. We are looking forward to seeing you all at Lebanon tonight for the ESTRS season opener!

Thank You,

John Storkamp
